FIS TALKS for parents: Digital Parenting

23 Dec 2020
Invitation Fis Talks x Parents Finnish International School - Georgia is pleased to announce the launch of a new initiative for parents – FIS Talks for parents.

Through this series of talks, FIS aims to keep the parents updated with useful and practical information that will help them better support their children in the process of learning and beyond.

The first activity to kick off this project is a very timely and useful seminar on "Mediation strategies with young teens on technology use".

The past couple of years, and especially 2020, have seen the biggest and fastest movement to “online operation” than ever witnessed before. We as parents need to adapt to this new reality, to learn new ways to support and guide our children in this context in such a manner that they manage to keep the right balance and can operate in a  safe and secure environment.

FIS is inviting Salome Aphkazishvili to lead the discussion. Salome is a media education advocate and researcher at Education Lab to lead the discussion. She is an experienced journalist and Fulbright communication graduate from the University of Southern Indiana. Her interests stand at the intersection of journalism and education, where media can be used as a tool of education and vice versa, education can be an important part of the media industry. Salome is enthusiastic to help educators to effectively communicate through and about media.

The event will be held on Zoom  on December 28th at 18:00.

To register for the event, please kindly check out our registration form, fill in your contact information, and you will receive the invitation link to the seminar on your email.
