1st Meeting with the Parents

On May 7th, 2019  FIS team held the meetings with the first flow of parents. At the meeting, parents were able to get acquainted with the school administration's representatives, talk to the teachers and ask questions about learning process and school infrastructure.

Finnish International School management, advisory board members and teachers provided parents with detailed information about the school:

Mission and values of Finnish Education "To raise active citizens for the future" & "Education for life, not for tests".

  • Learning various child-centered teaching methods.
  • Curriculum and after-class activities.

  • The building and school furniture is uniquely designed to be flexible learning environment for every child.
  • Stress free learning environment, focus on emotional and physical safety.
  • Finnish Curriculum: How to combine the academic subjects with the new life-skills of the future.
  • Why does the same teacher teach all the subjects to the same group and why it brings better learning results.
  • Teamwork and the benefits of two teachers teaching one group of 15 individual students.

In the nearest future, the Finnish International School plans to hold a similar meeting with the next flow of parents on a constant basis.
